Lot 122 - Piano Player Automaton
Gustave VICHY, circa 1880
Sitting on a stand, in a pretty original silk dress, Miss plays the piano, her hands going from left to right on the keyboard. She moves her head, greeting her public.
The instrument is lighted with candles chandeliers and a brass basket shows flowers. All the articulated keys, ivory and ebony, move.
Movements:
Head from right to left ;
Head up and down ;
Hands from right to left ;
Hands up and down.
Condition:
Completely original, the mint item condition (particulary the dress) is due to a window case, built as soon as the original purchase.
Mecanism is working and the original music box plays lovely four tunes.
China head and breast, shutted mouth, sulfur eyes, drilled ears, all in perfect condition; lead hands; pretty perfect fair wig.
Movements need lubricating and some minor accidents (veneer on the right foot of the piano; feet of the stool to be glued) will be easy to repair. Missing clockwork key.
